SNIFFER AND READER CONFORMANCE

TESTING MODE

RFID XPLORER

RFID Sniffer and Reader Conformance

The CISC RFID Xplorer reader tester is based on a full configurable Tag Emulator that allows measurement of reader transmit power and the reader receiver sensitivity through variable backscatter strength. Furthermore, the Tag Emulator allows testing the reader’s behavior in dependence of timing variations like BLF (Backscatter frequency) tolerance. CISC RFID Xplorer Sniffer is a tool to analyze RFID readers and tag signals. The detection and decoding of reader commands and tag responses are done in real-time. Sniffer lets the user trigger on reader commands. It logs the communication between the reader under test and tags into an XML file.

KEY BENEFITS

  • Automated conformance testing
  • Automated software verification
  • Understand which tags in the environment failed to answer
  • Information can be logged into an XML file for later review

KEY FEATURES

  • High precision result and premium receiver sensitivity that covers the RF band from 50 MHz to 2.2 GHz.
  • Supports multiple standards including GS1 EPC UHF Gen 2, ISO/IEC 18000-63, ISO/IEC 18047-63, RAIN RFID, and several ISO/IEC 29167 crypto suites
  • Reader Conformance testing
  • Advanced features
  • The capability of using it as a Field Recorder

ADVANCED SNIFFER FEATURE

Advanced Sniffer analysis offers the user the possibility of analyzing the communication with more depth. This tool provides the user with a graph of the Q-value development over time and a graph that indicates when tags in the field answered. With the help of this tool a user can clearly understand which of the tags in the environment failed to answer.

READER CONFORMANCE

The Reader Conformance Test in the CISC RFID Xplorer Tag Emulator and Sniffer measures link timing, physical layer, and RF envelope parameters and compares them with the values defined by the Gen2 protocol. The conformance checks are shown directly in the software while sniffing the reader and tag communication. Additional information can be logged into an XML file for later review. This file shows more details on the measured parameter, the minimum and maximum allowed value, and if it is in range or not.
